Azienda Agricola Puglisi
Azienda Agricola Puglisi
The “Azienda Agricola Puglisi” was born on the slopes of the largest volcano in Europe, Etna, and is surrounded by rivers, sea and mountains in a landscape of great charm.
Our vineyards are spread over two sides of Mount Etna. The largest and most productive vineyard is located on the north side of Etna, with an extension of about 4 hectares, in the district Feudo di Mezzo, 600 meters above sea level, between Passopisciaro, municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia, in what is considered the best Etnean wine-growing area. The system of planting adopted in this vineyard is the double espalier spurred cordon. The other smaller vineyard (1 hectare) is located on the east side of Etna, on the hills between Zafferana Etnea and Milo, Algerazzi district, just 300 meters from the winery. It is a vineyard still cultivated with traditional systems for the presence of numerous terraces and dry stone walls that characterize the landscape. In this vineyard the planting system adopted is sapling.
